Cristal in Monaco - advice on moving to the Internet

Thank you to the many clients who attended the Conference and cocktail party at the Monnet Show.

Madame President

Margaret Moore, President of Cristal Media Communications S.A.M., and our Head of Development, addressed over 60 people at the Monnet Conference in Monaco on the subject "Moving to the Internet - Problems and Solutions".

This was followed by a cocktail party where attendees could see demonstrations of the software and speak to Cristal staff about all matters including development and integration with the Internet.

For those who were not able to join us in Monaco there are some more events coming soon.

Monaco Grand Prix 24-27 May 2001

Of course the next major social event is the Grand Prix which is on 24^th - 27^th May 2001.

Cristal has balconies overlooking the start of the Grand Prix, with places for 25 people.

This is a very exciting (and noisy) occasion with an opportunity to see, and meet, the best racing drivers in the world. More details to follow later.

Genius - New Facilities

Just to bring you up to date on the latest developments in Genius, recent or forthcoming versions of the software include :

Static and dynamic HTML output from easyGenius Query - publish your reports directly to the Web (with a generated HTML menu to link them together), or generate pages ready to be hyperlinked into your site. No source changes are needed to existing reports.

Greatly improved EIS facilities - simplyGenius now creates EIS extract programs, and the EDV viewer is much faster and easier to use. It is now easy to bring up your favourite spreadsheet with the EDV display already pasted into it.

New Data Dictionary editor (GDE) - with a GUI interface for ease of use, it´s a one-stop shop for all areas of DDS maintenance, including metadata import from relational databases etc. for use with linkerGenius interfaces.

Many improvements and additions to linkerGenius interfaces - the Oracle interface is up to 10 times faster than before.

Support for XML - the new lingua franca of the Internet. This will allow Genius to exchange data with other Web-enabled application packages.

Direct access to remote files via Internet protocols (HTTP, FTP, etc).

If you are not using version 2.4.17 please contact us as it is available free of charge to users under a current maintenance agreement.

Genius - Modules

Maybe you are not using all of the modules in Genius i.e. RAD, 4GL, EIS and integration to databases, file structures and applications.
